Workshop Project: "Slab Building Tree" at Makana Art Studio!

We reserve the right to cancel any scheduled class on calendar, if there are no reservations booked by 8 a.m. date of class.

Learn how to make a Pottery Tree with pottery clay slab-building method.

You will learn how to roll clay and coil form your tree. Add clay balls for faux lights, a star on top, various textures. Once tree is designed and formed to your satisfaction, then you let it dry in our studio for up to a week. Once dry and ready for firing, we will place in kiln to a cone 6 to turn your green-ware into bisque. (We only fire one time per week on Monday's.)

Once cooled, your tree is ready to glaze. We have a variety of colored glazes in our studio that you can use to apply color to your tree. After you apply glaze your tree, then we add food-safe clear glaze to your tree, wait for the glazes to dry and then place in kiln for a second firing. Once last fire is complete, we notify you of pick up.
